Hey

I work in a very large building, for a very, very large company. There's a woman who sits near me - but we're in totally different departments. I'm 33 and I'm guessing - maybe hoping, she's like 25-27. She's very attractive to me - I make it a point to say hi every time I see her now.

Occassionally we'll bump into each other on our floor's coffee/break room. I'd like to gauge her interest - and availability. I figure on just introducing myself and saying "we haven't met yet" - and then seeing if she responds positively to a few follow up questions - like "so what do you do"/ how long have you been here...

If you were a woman - would that be a proper way to go about it?

She smiles when she sees me - as I do her - so I think this might be a good way to see what happens.

In the office coffee room just say Hi my name is Scooby-Philly and extend your hand for a shake.

What is your company's policy on dating in the office? And how serious are they about sexual harassment?

Sounds like a good plan to me. It's completely innocent and the same thing you would do to meet a guy at your workplace. So no harm done whether she is interested or not.

I can't think of a better way than the one you described. That would work for me. Good luck

Thanks for the affirmation. It sounded good to me, but getting affirmation only helps. Hopefully get a chance to run into her this week.
