...and it's not the one-night stand, BUT, it might as WELL be.

I've met numerous women that had been in monogmous relationships with men who were patient enough to hold out a few months, get what they want, and do the steady "fade".

This is more of a "long term" one-night stand. Not sure where this comes from, but apparently I hear of women complaining how they've met a guy, got a long him very well, been out on several dates, this is also exlusive dating....sometimes this can go on for months...once she decides to have sex with the guy...he leaves because, well...according to her, "he got what he wanted."

I am wondering, how common is this? Do a lot of women complain of this. Have women here suffered from this?

I don't think a guy would stick by a woman for months just to fade after sex. My guess is he left for other reasons, and the woman just didn't want to admit that to herself. Much easier to act like the guy was just a d-bag, than to accept he might not have really liked her.

Think about it. Men are lazy. Would you want to put months of work into a girl, just to leave after sex finally happens? I wouldn't. At the very least, after putting in all that work, I would want to keep her around to have sex with again.

Agreed. He didn't invest all that time and social energy for one sex session. He can find that some where else if he wants it that bad.

She scared him away in the given scenario is what it sounds like. Or he found some one he wanted more. Or he died in a car accident.

Although I should add that women are lazy too. So if that that's supposed to be some kind of sexist comment, about the opposite sex, I don't second that. But I second everything else you said.
