princococo Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Hello, I am interested in dating my friend's sister, how plausible is it to achieve this? Should I ask him what he thinks before I ask her out on a date? Her and I have talked and dined together in his presence and I am pretty convinced she has interest. You know... smiles at me for no reason, laughs at the worst jokes and asks an overwhelming amount of questions about who I am and what I do. She also feels bad and apologizes without reason for behavior I find to be quite cute . Somewhat attempting to stay excessively polite. I am not looking for simply sex or a one night stand with her. I normally would already have made a move but given I don't want to ruin a long lasting friendship I've been hesitating. He is also usually around when I see her, which makes it slightly more difficult. I've considered talking to her on facebook to not rub it into his face but I am by no means a fan of communicating dating intentions via social networking. What is your take on this?
d0nnivain Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I'd ask / tell him first & allow him to voice objections before you approach her. the younger you are, the more it should be a Q. If you are over 25, you can phrase it as more of a statement: I'm going to ask out your sister unless you object.
Sulayman Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Personally, i would not accept that, bc somehow this is gonna screw our friendship up
daisydook Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 My take is nope! Nope. Nope. No and more nope. 1. Never date your friends sibling. 2. Never date your siblings friend. 3. Never date your ex's friend. 4. Never date your friends ex. Simple.
Author princococo Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Hello again, Last night she asked me if I'd like to hang out with her saying she'd buy me a drink... I didn't decline and grabbed her number... her brother still doesn't know anything about this... I'm happy but unusually nervous at the same time... I'm pretty sure he knows she likes me... it seems to me now he's been arranging for me to see her more often. (for instance last night he asked me if I could come help him install her car stereo and the 2 minutes during which he went inside the house is when she asked me if I wanted to hang out/grab drinks). I'm debating if I should call her or ask him about it first... Her and I do seem to communicate very well both verbally and non-verbally...
