Stay_Gold Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Is there such a thing as "hubby material"...??? I am a little curious because I really don't know if woman label certain men as such when men obviously label certain women as being "wifey material".
MissBee Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Yup. For me there is! Some men are husband material in my mind and some aren't. My bf is my bf because he is "husband material" according to the things I'd want in a husband. Then there are men in the past I've seen casually but knew I would NEVER marry them as they didn't meet the criteria of someone I'd want to be the father to my kids, live with forever, introduce to my family etc.
leavesonautumn Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I think it really depends on what someone wants from a relationship. I think the basis of "hubby material" should mean compatibility, if he treats you with respects, views you as a partner, not abusive, communicates etc. In the general sense of the term, yes, I think some people just are husband material and some are not. To get into specifics would mean for some people husband material just means rich or attractive or great in bed but for most people it goes a lot deeper then that.
compulsivedancer Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Absolutely. I've heard it from women far more often than from men. Btw, I hate the word "wifey." I've never heard hubby used derogatorily, but wifey, to me, is derogatory.

A friend of mine actually calls his wife "Wifey" and he says it so tenderly, you can tell how much he loves her. I actually hate the word hubby. I guess it's just the tone. 1

I hate the word hubby. To me it sounds fat and old. So when or if i ever get married...I would hope my wife not call me hubby. Maybe its something I would need to get used to but...I do have certain fears and anxietys from my past...and therefore fat and old is something I am trying to avoid as long as possible. Therefore the hubby moniker is something I can't relate to easily.
