I've ran into two people like this in 35 years. The first one came back and apologized after 2 years, the second....well that's still up in the air. Neither of them were good people at their core. Just a bunch of fake BS and insecurity.

I think that was the biggest kick in the balls (and bruise to the ol' ego) for me. What hurt me the most is that someone who says they're absolutely 100% in love with you and wants to spend the rest of their life with you, can just go... cold... like a switch. It's one thing for a relationship to run its course and the two slowly drift apart. It's another thing entirely for someone just to go so cold so fast. Blows the mind.
