Or in how many relationships you know of (or been a part of) with significant age disparities, where the male was older and made significantly more money? A friend of mine is dating a girl about 14 years younger, and he's not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but his GF does not fit the classic description of someone who Is physically attractive or high maintenance. What are the typical dynamics of these types of relationships?

This is a version OF>>>>>>>>he gets a girl who is not overly attractive or high maintenance because he only has a certain amount of money. Well I'm not that jaded but why do you mention the age--because he is all jacked up about the age? Well, then that's a big part of the attraction. And it goes both ways. Some girls like the protective nature of it all and that the guy is completely enamoured because he got a younger girl. Daddy issues. Though if they have similar interests and a balanced relationship then I take it back. If she relies on him for money or support-ish type thing and is somewhat callous about his attention than it's just a golddigga version most people aren't used to but exists. The guys get off too on being a hero--til a certain point.

Suspect if you are asking you either:

a)have noticed a golddigga vibe from her

b)want to figure out how you yourself with limit resources can get yourself some young thang

c)have a crush on his gf

Some girls are cold-hearted and it doesn't really matter what they look like; their actions are pure golddigga. Don't get me wrong. The guys that are into them are split into two distinct groups.

a)unfortunate souls being taken for granted and somewhat naive

b)getting exactly what they deserve and want

Entirely depends on the people in the relationship.

I am personally wary of men who will "only" date women who are a certain number of years younger - the same way that I would be wary of women who would only date men with huge cocks, or men who earned a certain amount of money. I mean, we all have the "types" we like, but when it gets too picky and shallow, it's just a bit... yuck.

On the other hand, not every relationship with an age disparity is about gold digging or manipulation. Two people in an age disparate relationship can be two people who just like each other - same as any other relationship.

I'm currently in a relationship with a guy 18 (!) years older. It's not about the money (or I would have picked someone far richer). And it's not about being taken care of or protected (I'm an independent, professional, financially secure adult).

I'm with him because I like him the best of all the guys I have dated so far (before this man, that was an age range from 2 years younger than me, to 10 years older), despite his age.

I'm not sure of stereotypes, I'm with a guy who is 11years my senior. Although he makes heaps of money, I have never asked for anything. He gets annoyed that I always refuse, specially if it's about money because he has the capacity to give it to me, all I need to do is ask. On my part, I'm no femme fatale, not a trophy gf in any way. What we do have is this amazing emotional and sexual compatibility, that's why our relationship works.

In the case of significant age disparities that I know of (as in, 10 years or more)... almost all of them involved significant income disparities. That doesn't necessarily mean they're being a 'trophy', though. The average 30-40 yo does and should earn more than the average 20+ yo.
