Georgia2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Next week I have to go to a public building to update my personal information. My ex works in the same office I am going to. Unfortunately that is the only way I can update my information with the company is in person. My father is going with me since my ex is terrified to death of him. Which is weird since my father has only been nice to my ex. My father is a very nice person he is going with me so I won't worry about my ex upsetting me. Luckily my ex can't update my information. If I get his counter he has to get someone else to help me. Has any one had to go through a situation like this? Thankfully I won't have any contact with him after that. I never want my ex back. I have moved on and have been on some dates since our breakup. My life has improved 100% since our breakup. I don't want to say what company it is I case someone my ex knows reads this. d0nnivain Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Look fabulous. Hold your head up high. Be polite but cool & aloof. Do your business & get out of there as fast as you can. Do not engage in conversation. My EX works at my Alma Mater & sometimes I have to go there. I try to look my best & avoid the side of the building where his office is. I have no reason to go there but sometime he's in the public area. We can be civil but it's tough to see him again. 1
lovebug_5858 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I haven't been in a situation like that, But I say don't let it bother you and just try to go on with your day as if he isn't even there IF you even see him.

It's something I have been wanting to do for months. I plan on either talking to my father and just doing something on my phone so he will see I am busy. I just hope I don't have to wait long and that I don't get his counter.
d0nnivain Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 If you are next in line & his is the open counter, let the person behind you go next. treat yourself when it's over. 1
Chi townD Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I really can't add to this. Do EXACTLY as Donnivain told you and you should be fine. Put on a brave face even if it hurts to see him again, don't let it show.

I don't have the option to which counter I pick. You get a number when you go in. The counter you go to is automatically picked for you. That's a good idea treating myself when it's over. I will definitely do that.

All his co workers know me and knew we were supposed to be married. I at least want them to think he messed up by letting me go by looking my best and by acting my best. 1
