I'm in a mixed position, my third love I feel was my first true love, we had so much in common with one another all the way up to where we want to move one day. To keep it broad, it was a case of "right person, wrong time" as there were a large multitude of issues that plagued our relationship.

We fought for a month straight at what I would consider the height of it all until we just couldn't handle it anymore, and broke up. 4 months later, we discussed the relationship as a whole and what exactly went wrong. She said how her (EX) best friend was making out I was seeing other girls as she was jealous, etc. Overall we gained positive closure both sides, and said she's willing to give us another shot one day.

A month later, we weren't able to build off of that, we resulted in silly fights now and again over things leaving us in a tough position, it was partly my fault due to that I've still not moved on completely from her, my long-term issue with PTSD and how I easily overreact. (My PTSD was never a wholesale big issue in our relationship, with how bad our fights became it made me become more sensitive towards my feelings, not the thing a typical guy is willing to admit I know)

Anyway, to put it straight it's been 10 months since we broke up and rumor is around she's got her eyes on a local guy, I've backed off to give myself thinking time.

To summerise all of this into a simple question; How do you lose feelings for someone, when although your relationship never flourished to much, they still mean so much?

Mind is full of illusions, even after knowing the varieties of truth and fact about the person, you may consider them to be important and great.

It may take some time, you can simply learn from what happened to you, and promise to yourself that you are not going to repeat.

Sounds like you got your second shot....

What you were given is a lot better than other people on this forum have received.
