What are some of your "the one that got away" stories. Somebody that either left you, moved away, or you thought at the time wasn't right and now think it was a mistake.

I'd tell my story on the one that got away, but once I found him, gave horrible oral sex so I didn't want his ass anyway. :o

No, I'm pretty glad they all got away. THere are friends who I wish I could find now, but I'm happy to leave the boyfriends in the past.

There was one I thought had gotten away..untill I saw him again and wanted to run away.

Funny how life changes.

Your on the floor dying, hating everything and god because you broke up ,...then years later your happier than ever thanking god for making them go away.

EtErNaLlYCoNfUsEd, I had one similar experience. It was with my high school sweetheart. Was tore up for a loooong time, then when I saw her again, and what she had become, I was just about as pissed as I had been heartbroken. The fact that I let this person take up so much of my time thinking about her was terribly irritating.

Sometimes the best way to get over a lost love is to see them again. I know that my mind makes my former gf's much more great than they really were. And just like with my high school ex, as soon as I saw her again, it was B.B. King time....."The Thrill is Gone.....

Anyway, suprised not more people don't have more stories. I thought most everyone had someone that thought "got away".

I would tell about the girl I had locked up in the basement, but that is a different kind of "getting away" story. lol

Disclaimer: That last line was a joke, there has never been a women locked in Debo's basement. Heck, Debo doesn't even have a basement. Furthermore, None of Debo's friends have any basements for Debo To use. Debo is basement-less and therefore could not really lock a girl up in a basement.

People change.

Just because someone was neat-O in high school, doesn't mean they're so neat-O as an adult.

Oh, no doubt Tiki. My problem was the fact that in my mind, she was still the girl I fell in love with in high school. And not seeing how see had become in college, that was the image of her I always kept. Then, a couple years later, when I saw how she had turned out(in more ways than one, lol) I got over her quickly.

There was another woman that I mentioned on here when I first came that is more like my "one that got away" but hopefully, she thinks I am the "one that got away" more than vice versa. lol Cause, it was more her decision to leave than mine.

I let one get away.... cause she moved. We reunited four years later... She lead me on for a couple months... then disappeared off the face of the earth after confessing her love for me. So, I'd like to agree with everyone else.... I'm now the one that got away. :p

My "one I thought got away" was my highschool sweetheart as well.

What was I thinking?? It's true though you keep this idea or image of who they were and then you see them again and your like wow I was living in the past.

Thats why now I have a whole new outlook on breakups. Sure I'll cry and be sad and grieve for a while but I now know its not the end of the world.

I now know you analyze what happened, you find out what you learned from them and you move on to the next.
