I was dating someone for three years. We broke up a year and a half ago. He moved on & has a girlfriend. I have dated others, too. We haven't talked that much since the break-up, but we never really hated each other. He texted me yesterday and told me that he is moving out of state to pursue a PhD, but he will be back in 5 years. I was surprised he txted me.

I want to ask him to go for coffee before he leaves, but I don't want him to take that the wrong way. Should I ask him?

Do you still have feelings for him?

What is the point of seeing him? What would you like to happen, because you said he has a girlfriend.

Posted

Just do it.

If you are asking for our advice you are probably going to regret it if you don't.

No, you dont.

He is leaving and its likely after those 5 years you won't even be in contact or have communication since its so little now.

There is zero need to walk into his life just because hes truely moving onto a new life, you said your goodbyes when you broke up.

If you are over him, sure, go for it.

Nooooooooo why are people giving her the a-okay for this?

They broke up a year and a half ago

He has moved on

They have barely spoken since the breakup

HE IS LEAVING FOR 5 YEARS

Any minimal contact she has now will def have deminished after 5 years they will be different people even.

He was being polite as in bye im going to a new life wish him the best and leave him alone.

No need to bother the man with an in person awkward goodbyes after a year and a half apart.

Agreed. If you even have to post on here, seems like you still have feelings for this guy. If that's true, seeing him would not be a good idea.

If you were truly over him you wouldn't have to come on here and ask our opinions, especially after a year and a half of being broken up.
