ponchsox Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Of a guy in his 30s who had his Facebook background set to Batman the Cartoon? (not me, lol)
GemmaUK Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 That he liked Batman probably. Is this a trick question? 5
ExpatInItaly Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Nothing? Other than he likes Batman. Honestly, I'd probably barely notice it. 1
I_Like_To_Golf Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Not a girl, but I would think this guy is a bamf
TigerLilly78 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 That hes prob a comic geek but nothing wrong with that to each their own no different to a guy who has hot rods or some other interest up there.
writergal Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 That he's intelligent, doesn't take himself too seriously and is young at heart. Guys who like comic book characters are fun to be around and are usually really smart. 3
DrSimple Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 That you are trying to over analyze one minor facet of a person's thin outward persona? Who cares... 2
Odelle Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 You ask us "girls, what do you think?" Why do you ask only girls? : But seeing as you ask, I would have to wonder why this person needs to hide behind a 'batman' mask to relate online? If it's jst cos the person likes Batman, then that's something to share. Personally I would ignore anyone that only sets their profile up in such an impersonal way , unless they also add a little bit of detail. But that's just me
Assasda Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Well now we know that OP is seeking approval from girls. He might like batman, and want to change his profile picture to batman, but what he thinks isnt good enough. Work on your confidence a little bit OP
writergal Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hey, I dated a guy who owned a light saber. I love nerds. LOVE EM. Star Wars. 2
emeryentropy Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Of a guy in his 30s who had his Facebook background set to Batman the Cartoon? (not me, lol) This would be an extreme turn off for me. I date men about 3-4 years older hoping their maturity level is matched with mine. If the man is 30 and still hanging onto cartoons then that will definitely turn me away.
Noproblem Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 what is the problem with that? I don't understand, should guys stop loving certain things when they grow up so if they love batman it's odd, but if they love every girl in the corner that is mature right? I'll care more about his political views! 1
todreaminblue Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) micro analyzing a facebook background sounds like fun ....batman wears his shiny leather or pvc undies on the outside of pale blueish purplish tights which has always concerned me...even though i loved batman as a child .As a child I loved the concept of bruce wayne and dick greyson.....who was an orphan boy i think that bruce adopted.....and then a guy like dapper in a suit bruce.... who had so much money would adopt a hidden persona to fight crime on a level of fearlessness and unlimited resources to do so with an adopted orphan boy tickled me pink.........so ...in saying that....... maybe he has a hidden persona, is actually a billionaire that delves deep in the bat cave of face book to fight the onslaught of face book stalkers ....that actually hang out on love shack on a regular basis avoiding their stalking habits and asking for advice how to halt the stalking before they get caught...or....he likes batman ...cant decide which...i like my first option best....and i wouldnt care either way if a guy i knew had a batman background....i like inner children Edited June 22, 2014 by todreaminblue
TigerLilly78 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hey, I dated a guy who owned a light saber. I love nerds. LOVE EM. Star Wars. So err just how big was his "light saber" sorry couldn't help myself..lol 3
writergal Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 So err just how big was his "light saber" sorry couldn't help myself..lol Haha TigerLilly! Let's just say I never had to tell him to "use the force," because it was clear to me he knew how. 2
BC1980 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 He's asking because his ex is not dating someone with a FB background of Batman Stop worrying about the other guy, and stop checking her FB.
SummerDreams Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Well I think this would bother me as well of I knew nothing about him. My bf is an anime and cartoons lover and it kinda bothers me. He has explained to me again and again that there are anime that are strictly for adults but I can't be persuaded; in my opinion a movie or series that has no people as actors is for kids.

What about Mickey mouse? and Disney loads of other wise uninterested adults love them im sure more then half of Disneys target market is adults now a days. If you have ever gone into one of the Disney stores in the malls you can see that. The other stuff is kind of no different just less commercially acceptably and I guess less main steam. That's one way to look at it I don't know to me there could be allot worse things a guy could be into..just saying..lol anyways some one said the OP started this thread cause his ex is now dating a guy who likes batman?...I guess he was hoping to get people to put him down for that eh not good... 1
writergal Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 If I ever met any real-life Leonard Hofstadter's (Big Bang Theory) I'd be happy as a clam. Brainy guys like that who also LARP and go to Comic Cons, I can hang with anytime. 1

Me too. I'm not attracted to the Sheldon or Howard or Raj types though. Leonard. Now there's a name that rolls off the tongue. Good for you TigerLilly! 1

Disney characters are mostly likeable to adults just cause they remind them of sweet times of childhood or cause they just relax them. I don't think that any serious person would prefer a disney movie than a serious adult movie, unless they want to have fun. This is the key word: fun. A batman avatar shows that this person wants to have fun more often than being serious. I know I may be reading more than needed into this, but I can't help it.
WrinkledForehead Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 This would be an extreme turn off for me. I date men about 3-4 years older hoping their maturity level is matched with mine. If the man is 30 and still hanging onto cartoons then that will definitely turn me away. Go check out XKCD (which a significant portion of the population wouldn't understand because of the heavy math and science base behind the comic) and then come back and tell me that someone in their 30s is immature for reading comics. Pffffft. 1

He has explained to me again and again that there are anime that are strictly for adults but I can't be persuaded; in my opinion a movie or series that has no people as actors is for kids. There's a specific kind of anime with a porn basis to it. I'm not into anime, but I can assure you that there are some XXX comics and are definitely *not* for kids.
