One thing I notice about all the people I know who are in healthy, happy relationships is that none of them has a god/goddess complex.

OTOH all the bitter divorcees I know, DO have that complex... and they can't figure out for the life of them why things went so wrong in their lives. I see the same thing in a lot of single people who complain that they can't get into a good relationship no matter how hard they try.

But yet they never want to let go of the problem of their god/goddess complex, if they're even aware they have it.

It's bad enough that there are plenty of men with a god complex (think of arrogant rich doctors, for example), and there are plenty of women who fall for that male power crap.

But OTOH it's different for women who have a goddess complex, they tend to scare men off and either become smug by believing they're too good for any man, or else they complain that men who approach them, dump them very quickly. Occasionally they get lucky, when they hitch up with some guy who's a sad sack in need of a dominatrix.

My buddy's ex-wife is a good example of a woman with a goddess complex. She's an MD but mentally immature, has anger issues, is obese and not that good looking, and has no hobbies, yet she thinks the world revolves around her and she can't figure out why men don't approach her after her messy divorce. My buddy put up with her abuse for 9 years because he grew up in the shadow of his over-achieving older brother and was used to being bossed around.

So, yeah... if you're a man with a god complex, that will make you pretty much undateable... but if you're a woman with a goddess complex, it will make you even more undateable. Anyone who thinks I'm full of crap can go and see the evidence for themselves.
