VirginiaBob Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 alpha, I know a lot of people that have had successful relationships that met online. It might depend on the area where you live though.
Groovy Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I have dated on Match.com. Most of the guys are looking for booty and when they don't get it they go to another girl. I got a ton of hits from good looking, sucessful, shallow men who were so not worth my time. But I know 2 people married off the site. For me it would be the last place on earth to go for a man. E-Harmony is better. The fact that the questionnaires are so dang long means men are probably there because they are actually wanting something more than just a fling. It would be a lot of effor and more money for just a fling they could get elsewhere. In no way am I trying to push my Christianity on anyone, but I think my best luck have been the Christian sites. Guys don't join with the intent to nail as many girls in bed as they can. On the down side some people have been very rigid, unaccepting and their lifestyles seem dull. Some are fanatical. There are fewer responses but the guys I have gone out with are always very kind. They don't try to get you drunk to take you home, cram their tongue in your mouth with their hand up your skirt or feel you owe them your body after a nice dinner was paid for. The one's I like are http://www.bigchurch.com, http://www.christiancafe.com, and http://www.christiancafe.com. They also have one's for Jewish, etc if you plug it into a search engine.

What is that dumb show? Survivor or whatever. We have a pact or stupid alliance or whatever it's called.
Groovy Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I have to agree with the poster that doing things you like is the most risk free way to meet people. One drawback of on-line dating is you can't know someone from an ad, the real person is when you spend much time with them. People on-line can say anything and many people are even hiding a family in it all. One guy from Match.com admitted he was there to have sex with women and if I wanted a relationship Match.com was not it. Boy was he right!
joseyposie Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 http://www.asianfriendfinder.com and http://www.friendfinder.com is better sites for me. i have been looking for 4 yrs now and have has many success with dates from these sites.

MassiveAtom Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I'll just say it again. Match, matched me with my ex-wife. So no, they DON'T work.
moimeme Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I'll just say it again. Match, matched me with my ex-wife. So no, they DON'T work Inductive fallacies (both): Hasty Generalization: the sample is too small to support an inductive generalization about a population Unrepresentative Sample: the sample is unrepresentative of the sample as a whole
