youaretheone
I work in a small sized company with around 30 employees. In our company, we already have a couple: the girl is working at my team and her boyfriend in another team. This helps me deduce that the company is understanding towards having couples in the workplace. My case is a bit different: I like this woman, who works as the executive assisstant of one of my bosses. Even though she is labeled as the "HR Team", she has no duties regarding my salary, assessments, personal files, etc. We have been flirting with each other lately and even did some ballroom dancing in a company party, the butterflies were in the air. I recently asked her out for a coffee and she accepted. Anyone who has been in my shoes or have experience in such, could you please give me some advice on how to proceed? To me, it would not be a problem if we keep things professional like the other couple in our office and have our romance outside - our rooms are totally apart as well. The only problem I see is that we might be frowned upon because she is in the "HR team" and working in direct contact with my boss.
hasaquestion
You have 30 co-workers. There's thousands of women out there. So there's thousands of women - 30 people you can date without endangering your professional life. Is this really necessary?
clia
I think you should talk to your boss about the situation before you proceed any further. You should also find out the official company policy on dating co-workers from HR.

If it goes bad at work, it will be bad..people in your gym..same thing. Bartenders..the reason I say this is..if this goes bad..where's the free shots?
Assasda
Keep doing what youre doing man. Love only comes around once in a life time. And you picked a good one, by dating the HR girl. You can test out what is sexual misconduct in the work place.
nofeelings22
I've done this in a similar size company with the same girl! lol The executive assistant to the president. Just keep it all out of the office. Be uber professional at work, even at work parties. Be a good employee.. as in... make the company a fortune. You can do anything you want if you are a good employee. I was terrible at my 3rd job out of college. Took large groups of people out on my Amex card to bars, restaurants, hooked up with 3 different fresh out of college girls there in like 2 years (including the most ridiculously hot Filipina girl... 100lbs with fake DD's.. brought her on a company trip to Cancun) , came and went as I pleased, was drunk and partied all the time. BUT! Because I made that company money hand over fist and basically brought in the cash that paid half the salaries, instead of being disciplined, I was often introduced by the president at company wide meetings to speak on my latest achievements and how my efforts were coming along. Very work hard, play hard. So... the point of this is.... be really good at work and people will have to accept your dating the office hottie executive assistant. But have ground rules with her, so you don't let it affect your work.
