Guys, which type of girl do you prefer to date and/or marry out of these three?

A femme fatale: a sexy, manipulative seductress; Described in one word: sexy

I think that the average guy would want a one-night stand with a femme fatale, a relationship with a girl-next-door, and marriage with a princesse lointaine.

Please answer in detail about why. I am trying to observe personalities and preferences as research for a writer. I would also appreciate it if you could share detailed, vivid real life experiences (i.e. crush, love, one-night stand, relationship, marriage) with these kind of girls. I need good ideas for a story that I am writing.

I would not want any of those "types". I want a real person. real people cannot be put into those kind of boxes. They all have various elements of all the characters.

 

If your writing has characters that resemble these then I hope it's no meant to be based in any way on reality. A fantasy/fairy tale maybe but nothing even remotely realistic would have that kind of obviously stereotyped characters.

Are you serious? These black and white characters don't exist in real life. It's like reading a bad novel.

OP, I think you have a LOT to learn about people and relationships. The princess type is the absolute last kind of woman I'd marry, as it is almost inevitable that it would be a cold and unsatisfyingly sexless marriage. Some men may marry these or the "femme fatales" as trophies, but are probably cheating on them with someone more down to earth.

 

The girl-next-door is a cliche, but probably closest to what most men will find attractive and marry - and often, she can also be beautiful and exciting. The GND is often NOT boring, traditional, shallow, or a cliche. The only downside is that these days the average/typical GND is about 50 pounds heavier than when I was young. <sigh>

So true, 90% of the girls that are interested in me are about 5'4" 220, and I'm 5'11" 180. Also the number of GNDs are dwindling down.

We have a saying that goes somewhat like this "A guy wants a hot girl at his side as he walks down the street. He will marry someone who will be a good spouse and a good mother". It's hard to translate, but that's the idea.

 

I personally think that being the girl next door is a good thing. I also think that she should know when to put something sexy on. That's just me
