Anyone else feel like this with exes

My first girlfriend ever I dated in high school about 2 years ago. She broke up with me and it really broke my heart I was miserable for a while. Fast forward 2 years I feel like we never even dated. It seems like it was all a dream I can remember some moment we shared together but nothing really vividly . And when I see her or see pictures of her it affects me just as though she was a stranger. We don't hate each other or anything there's not really any awkwardness we just act like we've never met each other because that's what it feels like except its weird because I know at one point this stranger meant the world to me. Its kind of a mind f*ck.

It's pretty normal. Don't worry about it. It's probably more healthy that you let go, hung on to a few cherished memories but basically moved forward in your own life.

Some of us have a silly notion in our head that we should feel an endless sorrow for our lost lovers; that somehow by not honouring their loss with eternal gloom we are somehow betraying them. It's some weird guilt complex. And it's unhealthy.
