Tough mutual breakup

So somewhat recently my ex and I broke up ( 3 weeks ago)

Some background info:

Before we started dating we were really good friends and love really grew on us. We had been dating for two years before we broke up.

The break up was very mutual because it just wasn`t good timing. We both need time to grow and find oursleves outside of the relationship. School, work and everything had become too much to have a relationship. I still care about him so much and I don`t know where to go from here.

We continue to walk home from school with each other with good conversation. I can`t picture any guy being better for me than him. I have tried talking to guys but it just isn`t the same.

I heard that you need time when it comes to breakups but I can`t do it. I keep seeing him where ever I go. We always went on hikes because it is something we both loved to do. now I go alone because it is something i still love to do and I end up running into him in the forest.

It's normal to feel that way after only 3 weeks. You need to stop walking with him each day. You need to delete pictures, messages, contacts and other memories of him. Find new path to go hiking. It's also normal to not feel excited when you talk to new men. You cannot compare how it feels to speak to strangers to speaking to a man you had a loving relationship with.

There is no quick way around this, it takes time.
