J21 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I had date #2 with someone I met on OLD this past weekend. Went to dinner, conversation flowed easy and we were both enjoying ourselves--laughing, joking, etc. Went to get wine after at a lounge near by and again, we chatted and both enjoyed talking for like an hour and a half. Ok so we leave, and she asks if we should take the subway or walk. I say it doesn't matter and she says ok lets take the subway. We walk down a few blocks but all the entrances to the subway stations were closed, so after a few blocks I say we might as well walk it. She was like u wanna walk? ok I can compromise. But on the way down, i felt it got really awkward and silent? I couldn't think of anything to say. I was kinda tired and the wine made me a little sleepy but still that's no excuse. I really don't understand what happened. I just felt like a date that was going very well ending awkwardly all of a sudden. On the walk down I said something like "oh I had fun today, when can I see u again?" She replied "aren't u super busy? U have that business travel coming up". I said "the business trip is in 2 weeks" and she was like "let's watch a movie next time." 90% of the date went pretty well, just that walk down and asking when I'd see her again felt awkward. Am I over thinking this? After talking for like 3 hours maybe we just ran out of things to say? She gave me a hug and said to text her when we parted but i still cant shake the feeling. She's been responsive to my texts but I dunno, my gut tells me the awkward ending sticks out. I'm also wondering about her response to when i ask when ill see her again. She replied "aren't u gonna be busy with your business trip?" Is that a polite way of hinting at something?
Potz4prez Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Maybe she just wanted to hear you say you value her enough to make time for her. Don't over think it too much. Just go with the flow I bet all your worries will be gone come date 3.
