I am getting married in about 4 1/2 months. For our garter/ bouquet toss we are doing something different. "The Annivesary Dance" We will play a special song for all couples to dance to. The DJ will count 1.....2.......3.......4.......etc.

When the couples hear the number equalling the amount of years that they have been together they will leave the dance floor. The object of the game/dance is that the couple who have been married/together the longest are the only couple left on the floor. They are presented with the garter and bouquet

and have a song dedicated to them.

I am ask for help in picking songs that would be good for all couples to dance to and for the remaining couple to dance to.

I doesn't matter if it's rock or country or anything else as long as you can slow dance and it's romantic.

My ideas are:

Alan Jackson -Remember When

Tim McGraw - My Best Friend

Alison Krauss - When you say nothing at all

clint black, "something that we do"

lonestar, "amazed"

lonestar, "my front porch looking in"

kenny chesney, "I want to know how forever feels"

dixie chicks, "cowboy take me away"

garth brooks, "the dance"

... he's not a country musician, but I've got to plug sting here: "fields of gold," "my one and only love,"we'll be together" come to mind. also paul mc cartney's "maybe I'm amazed," bob marley's "is this love" and "satisfy my soul," pat benetar "we belong" (all of which are on my specially burned Love Gravy cd)

Hey Carla! good to see you....

Hope all the planning is going along well....only 2/12 months left for us now. :D

That sounds like a good plan you have for the dances...I dont have a suggestion , but I like yours.

Anne Murray "Could I Have This Dance" (for the rest of my life)

Shania "From This Moment On" or "You're Still the One"

Hey - might as well make it Canajun while you're at it :D

Eep! I missed the bit about 'not necessarily country'. If you'll take any type, I could type for days LOL. I'll go try to whittle down the list to something manageable.

What a beautiful idea! I love that!

One of my favorite slow songs is Stars Fell on Alabama, by Jimmy Buffet. It's so romantic and tender.

"You look wonderful tonite" by ERic Clapton, and....

"Unforgetable" by Natalie Cole and her dad, Nat King Cole.

guarantee to pack the dance floor for couples slow dances.

Thanks for all of the ideas. I'm going to write them all down, and hopefully listen to them one by one to figure out the 2 I will use. Thanks again.
