The past 2 years my friends have tried to set me up with a few people that I haven't been attracted to physically or mentally. To be blunt, 2 were bigger than me and the other 2 had no personality. Nothing against bigger girls because at one point I had some problems with my weight but now I'm thin and fairly attractive. I use to be shy but now I'm pretty confident in myself...

My major concern here is that my friends might think I'm boring and unattractive and that is why they mention these types of women. My friends tell me to date these types but then they go out and date 9s. It's kinda like they are being hypocrites because they don't take their own advice!

Is it normal for friends to try to hook you up with "nice girls" that are a little homely? My feeling were kinda hurt. :o So I'm trying to figure out if it is me or them?

You seem a little into yourself. Give one of them a shot. You might actually enjoy it.

To be honest, if that's all they've sent your way, you're getting to date about 1 person every six months... hm.

Go out and try to find someone in your league instead of relying on blind dates.

Your friends are your friends. They are trying to help you, do not disparage them.

Sounds like they're trying to help you out with what's left over and or what they feel you're realistically capable of getting...they're not going to toss you the 9's if they're trying to sleep with them.

If you can do better though then go get it, being hurt over your friends throwing you a few fatties isn't that attitude I would if I were in your shoes...most guys I know expect you to get your own meal.

If you're all that and a bag of chips then why can't you just go out and snag yourself a 9 all on your own?

You sound absolutely charming. I'm sure it can't be that hard to do.

It is you.

They might actually like those women, and think that you might, too.

It's more about your ego and what you think of your friends. It's easy to covet, but if my friends really are my true friends, I would trust their judgement and take a shot at it.

No one's telling you to settle. Just have fun.
