CurlyIam Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 You forgot: level of education and bank account. You'd be amazed at how repeatedely mentioning the word "trust fond" can make a woman ... try more unsual things. Also education and attitude: I have met some extremely unfit men much more attractive than men with a nice body. As long as their attitude does not stink (or their mouth) ... they do fall under the 'catch' category. Don't worry, alpha, you aren't under any threat to be in either of the three.
Selkie Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 When I was 12 my grandmother showed me a photo of her father in late stages if cancer of the mouth (he got the cancer as a result of smoking, unfortunately in his day and age he never knew smoking was bad for him )............ The photo of my great grandfather with most of his jaw eaten away was the most effective anti smoking statement anyone could've made to me. As a result, I have never ever even tried to smoke nor do I have interest in falling in love with a boy and maybe watch him end up with his jaw falling off in the future. On a lesser note, everyone I know who is a nonsmoker and kisses a smoker has complained about it.
kanga Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I'm not allergic to cigarette smoke (I don't think) but I seem to be more sensitive to it than the general population, and I hate the smell of it lingering on a smoker. I have gone on casual dates with smokers, but I never had a relationship with a smoker. I think if I liked the guy enough in enough other ways, smoking wouldn't be a deal breaker. But I don't think a smoker would want to maintain a LTR with me because I'd be soooo demanding and such a nag about not smoking in my house, near me, in the car, smelling like smoke, not smoking hours before kissing me, etc. etc. I'm laid back and easy going in nearly everything. Smoking is the one thing in which that's not true. (Totally different situation with friends, though. I know they smoke, and I still choose to go out with them, so I don't make a fuss if we're in a smoky bar or they smoke around me.)
