smarvin Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but in Germany you'll be considered African since you were born there and are African or American if that's how you self identify. Not as African American. In some other parts of Europe dark skinned people might be called black (which isn't an insult), but the African-American equivalent doesn't exist. I was in a mix race relationship with a German and lived in Germany, but I didn't have a job or speak German and we ended up going from Berlin to a village in Bavaria. In the end it didn't work out, but it wasn't because I gave Germany a try. In fact I would live there again if I could. It's great that you have the option to go there with your job.
