magic.carpet.muncher Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 My GF and I broke up and she has my GPS and iPhone4. I have been asking for her to return them for over a month and no response. The only two options I am aware of are 1. File a small claim 2. call her parents we are both adults, around 30. But she sort of still lives with her folks. I don't know the address of her new apartment so I would have to serve her at her parents' house. I do not want to call them but I am trying to save them all a big hassle. I am a lawyer so it's no skin off my back to file a claim. I am not going to forget about the GPS and phone. They were not gifts. So 1 or 2? or other options but I am not going to approach her in person. If she wont respond to texts or emails then that's too risky.
Strength in Healing Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Kind of sounds like you are using your legal knowledge as a justification to break NC. You are a lawyer, go buy a new iPhone. You're due for an upgrade most likely if you had an iPhone 4... that's like 3 years old. And please save the back and forth. I am in law enforcement and am perpetually exhausted by lawyers and their desire to argue everything. Just get a new phone, the end. 1
Chi townD Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Why tie up the legal system for something stupid. Call her folks. She'll get mad that you went to them and she'll return it to you all while calling you an asshat. But, you'll get your phone back. 1
