I broke up with my ex (18 years old) a month ago after he became distant and stopped respecting me. It took me a long time to muster up the courage to but I did it. He didn't seem to care about the fact that we broke up at all, I'm guessing he sort of emotionally checked out weeks beforehand.

I go to school with his ex's cousin and he talks to me pretty frequently. He told me he heard about the break-up. Out of curiosity, wanting to see if my ex was lying, I ask, "Who did he tell you broke up with who?" And he said [his cousin] broke up with me because I was "psycho."

I did everything for him, wasn't a psycho, I only expressed concern when he would hang out with a girl that he TOLD me had feelings for him. It was only natural to be a little jealous since I didn't trust her. I've never done anything like give him an ultimatum (her or me), never looked through his phone, asked for passwords, never told him what to do, etc.

Can anyone else relate? Do they do this to make themselves seem like less of a loser by pretending to be the "dumper" or what?

I couldn't believe what I heard.

When we first started dating, he said all his past girlfriends cheated on him. Now I know that's probably not the case. He's so full of sh*t lol

The fact that he's such a jerk will help me move on quickly

Eh some dumpees will make up anything to make it look like they're the bigger person because they're too proud of themselves for...something. They always have to be "right" and the "bigger person."

You hurt his pride when you broke up with him. He's trying to make himself feel better about being hurt. He's trying to put the blame on you.

Just because he's 18, doesn't make him any less than a child by the way he reacted. You two just weren't on the same mentality page.

Enjoy you freedom!
