stateofgrace Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Hey all! Looking for some fresh date ideas, I'd love to hear any cool date stories or unique dates you've been on or would like to go on, just looking for something new!
Omei Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 This hasn't happened to me but I've always wanted a guy to take me to a park and pull out a picnic with tons of food he made himself. and we spend all afternoon snacking, talking and people watching. Yeah yeah I know too the movies like! A girl can dream tho. 2
Potz4prez Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 This hasn't happened to me but I've always wanted a guy to take me to a park and pull out a picnic with tons of food he made himself. and we spend all afternoon snacking, talking and people watching. Yeah yeah I know too the movies like! A girl can dream tho. Picnic AND a home-cooked meal? Damn, pick one. That's too much work. Dates I'm a fan of for getting to know a girl: Concert Picnic with a bottle of wine Walk in the botanical garden... it's almost rose season I believe. Zoo (everyone looks cuter next to penguins) Gallery hops or any other big public event like food festivals, etc. Some museums have "adult nights" Cooking a meal for the girl and watching a movie at home Any activity that you both share an interest in, ie. rockclimbing, swimming, canoeing, yoga, etc (Just make sure you're good at it... don't want to look a fool ) Go on an adventure in the city!!! Go out with no intention other than something like finding the best coffee shop, or best whatever. That's all I got off the top of my hopelessly romantic head.
MsOptimist Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 My guy has done the picnic with homemade food - it doesn't have to be complicated to be awesome. One time he simply bought crusty bread, fresh mozarella, basil, tomatoes, and balsamic. Super simple caprese salad that we cut and put together at the picnic by a lake while the sun was setting. We also had wine and strawberries for dessert. It was amazing. We canoe a lot and that's a fun, unique date that's calm and one on one. We pack a homemade lunch and pull over for a picnic. If we go out to eat one of our favorite things to do is split an appetizer and get a drink - then head somewhere else and do the same thing. It's a cheaper way of trying new things and we love to share food and try out new restaurants. We also ride our bikes a lot so we often bike to our destination - going out to eat or for drinks downtown. Or just a long bike ride for fun. It adds an extra element of adventure and we stop along the way at whatever looks interesting.

Yeah yeah I know too the movies like! A girl can dream tho. I've done this, but on the beach. Wasn't homemade food, but since she was a vegan, I made sure to get all the right foods she would like. Bowling is good. Great opportunity for some playful fun Miniature golf - same thing
Omei Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I've done minature golfing with my ex as a date its one of my best memory's almost makes me want to cry now . =/ 1
organizedchaos Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 The above are good because they aren't taken serious. There is some structure but lots of opportunity for personalities to come out. A gutter ball or a strike...doesn't matter as much as just being together. Exactly. You can get a good sense of personality. Some high fives, playful touching, etc. Probably good for a second date. And in both situations, you can then continue the date after in another spot. Go grab a drink somewhere, get dessert...etc. Keeps things flowing, fun, casual, and still romantic.
