Nickierose19
Like I'm asking because I always find that it seems most people know I'm not a lesbian before they even meet me. I can be at a social meeting or celebration for mainly just lesbians at a lesbian bar or anything to do with them I'll be singled out and known I'm actually straight it works this way with lesbians an even more with straight people. And I'm very masculine in presentation. I actually don't really like identifying as female I'm neutral on the male side of things. So in appearance I look more like a the stereotypical butch lesbian day to day. Like I know there's gaydar but is there straightdar too? Everyone always acts like I can't be gay which is true I find girls repulsive. But has anyone else found they were assumed to be straight no matter what? And why is this? What is "gaydar" and "straightdar" based off of?
halfcrazed_i
Funny enough, gay people have a "straight-der" -- my gay friends seem to know who's straight and gay just within a few moments...

hasaquestion
how do they know? Well logically, if you have a "gaydar", you have a "straightdar" too. That's just people who don't tick your gaydar. And you can already guess why a gay guy would have a strong gaydar. Because the world is full of straight people and finding like minded spirits takes paying attention. Edited May 13, 2014 by hasaquestion
Assasda
Its how you carry yourself most-likely, and what kind of things you like. There are certain unconscious physical things what straight women do, when men walk into the room. Which are telling. Also the interaction between straight women and gay women are different

Gonna have to dwell on your assumption. Hasnt been my experience in the least. Care to give an example of how females of lesbian persuasion behave? Do they giggle different? Hug different? I"m a hetero female and i've been hit on by females, and i'd be curious to know what i did to create an invitation to overstep my female boundary? I treat unwelcome advances the same, with a smile and no thanks not interested.

I stand by my first post stand by a fountain if you so choose. A solid question was asked in which you cannot legitimately give raw data to support your assumption. Not sure how to take your humor, so I'll leave it here on this post. Enjoy it.

Author Nickierose19
Have you had sex with, or at least kissed a girl? no I don't like girls at all. It's just odd that people would know I'm straight really. I'm not exactly straight I'm polysexual I also like transwomen in the sexual sense but I'm mainly straight in the biological sense. I don't seem straight I look more androgynous than the usual straight girl is expected to be you know. That's how I don't get how people automatically know.

Oh, I thought that you did like girls but were upset that nobody else thought you did. People automatically assume that everybody else is straight, unless they are proven otherwise. Also, unless a woman comes across as really butch, nobody will assume that she is gay.

I come across as masculine/butch generally. Even when I'm at an event with mostly lesbians like a lesbian bar and the like.
