john1682 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 A little backround info... My girlfriend is Mexican/Spanish. I'm full Russian. So we've been going out for awhile & all I get from her mom are eary vibes. I feel like there's tension even though she's "polite". My girlfriend told me that her mom thinks, "I'm a player", and that "I'll cheat on her". Things like that... I'm wondering why she's like this? I mean she's judging me right off the bat and for no apparent reason. What do you guys think?
Fondue Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Funny that this thread popped up. I'm RUssian, too. I haven't met my GF's parents yet, but I have been seeing her for about 10months now. Her mother asks a lot about me and my GF relays some of that back to me, for fun and laughs. They spent the day together on Friday and apparently I was a decent part of their conversation. Her mother too, kept asking her if she was "sure" I wasn't sleeping with other women, and if I can be "trusted," and if I genuinely care about her and what not. According to my GF, her mother kept emphasizing the fact that she should be weary of me cheating. To be clear, I have not cheated on her. Must be a Russian thing, eh comrade?
Author john1682 Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 Haha it might be. Or it could that their parents are extremely traditional and don't approve dating outside of their own race. But yeah man, watch out! Her mom will start drilling things into her head especially if she doesn't like you after she meets you. It sucks but that's how some mom's are... 1
mrs rubble Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I don't know if things are the same there as they are here, but there have been loads of Russian women coming here and marrying local guys. They are not very complimentary about Russian men in my experience.
bluegreen Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 You do not speak language know traditions are foreign of different religion have no clue about customs food music people moral and way of their life. Now why would she "trust" you enough to like you ?
