Does anyone know if going through a second heartbreak is easier? I came to this site a couple years ago from my ex ex. I was in such a dark hole that at the beginning I was briefly contemplating suicide(crazy I know). That was a 3 month relationship that took me 8 months to get over. But now I'm fresh out of my second breakup(3 days).

I do cry but not for long and it hurts like crazy I've lost my appetite and a couple hours of sleep per night but it doesn't feel like that super dark place I was in after my first heartbreak. I'm hurt but frustrated because I know I will move on eventually but can't at the same time.

Does anyone else feel that since you've been through this before and were able to move on that it helps you?

I would say that surviving loss in general can give one the confidence that one can continue and that there is life again.

However, if too many losses coincide then it can be too much for some to bear.

In your case, it sounds like you are developing some immunity and strength in knowing that you can cope and that the uncomfortable feelings that come with a break-up will pass.

That's good. :)

Hope you feel better and better with each day.

It makes sense. While I think the loss is always a difficult journey to walk, once you've walked it you realize that you made it through the other side.

This was proably the most "traumatic" experience I've experienced in my life and even 4 months down the road I find moments where I am happy again.

Generally, I have found it is easier to get over breakups further down the road. But I still feel young and get chances to meet new people.

I'm not so sure it would be the same if I was older and didn't get out much. Then it could get very lonely. And you'd really need to try to motivate yourself.

So always remember, however bad you feel, there's probably thousands of people out there feeling much worse.
