Phoe Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Clean and freshly showered. No cologne. It just mucks up a mans natural scent! 3
CarrieT Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Cleanliness. Nothing that is manufactured is acceptable. 2
Phoe Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Money :p Lol! Strangely enough, I think money smells like ginger. I have a ginger shampoo and I'm like "WHY does this smell like money?!?" 1

Smilecharmer Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I like my man all sweaty...especially if he has worked on the property or with our horses. Though he always smells so good....I like to put my nose into his neck and just breathe him in. Everyone is always asking him what he is wearing, and he says...clothes. So funny. 6

Smthn_Like_Olivia Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I like a nice suttle cologne on a man. I think it smells yummy. Depends on the brand though. My guy wears a light cologne and when I bury my face in his neck he smells like a fresh clean with a hint of cologne. Its like an aphrodisiac. 2
Silly_Girl Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 So what's the best scent on a man? Vigorous exercise.
JohnM Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 If you like clean I wear prada infusion which is like luxurious soap, lovely stuff. For a more sophisticated scent I use chanel egoiste, aptly for its name its for me, as I love the close scent.
Imported Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Freshly showered and clean smell as has been noted repeatedly already. Of course an actual freshly showered and clean smell last less than an hour for most guys, even less for many or longer for a few. If you meet and start talking with the women in that hour or so.....great. She will associate you with that smell. Probably even after it goes away. I just go with Irish spring body wash and a very lite sprit of creed green Irish tweed as my norm. Its pretty common for me to be told I smell clean and asked if I just stepped out of the shower. From women and other dudes. I dunno if creed is worth the money, but I pay it. I'd listen to the women here with a grain of salt. Most guys sweat and stink within 4 hours of showering.
RonaldS Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I haven't had so much as a drop of cologne touch my body in over 20 years. I'm lucky in that I'm not a stinky guy, so I don't even have to put deodorant on every day...maybe 3x a week. But I work out a lot, and subsequently shower at least twice a day, so I don't lug around a whole lot of build-up. Not sure how women feel about whatever scent I have, but I haven't had any issues, so it must work for them. Similarly, I don't really care for perfume on women.

You're welcome, axe me anytime. 3
Shepp Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I get complements if i'm wearing polo blue or Victorinox swiss army unlimited The latter my favourite - though its hard to get - its meant to smell like the alps, like piney! 1
Imported Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I didn't hear anyone say 'skip the deodorant'. Just don't use Axe shower gel followed by Axe deodorant, followed by Axe body spray! You're welcome, axe me anytime. I use a powder or shower clean antiprespirant (usually Dove) for underarm. One wrist still gets a light sprit of Creed and then I tap that wrist on the other and behind the ear. Works for me. Axe actually is a good product at a great price. Fragrance from any shower gel goes away in under an hour or much less anyway and its more about how it makes you feel when you're showering. I have used axe, I didn't just watch a commercial and form an opinion off that. The stuff is a Unilever product and is a good option. I have tried many other products, most costing far more and honestly axe ranks up fine to them. For shower gels. I don't like whole body sprays by anyone. Priv Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I always get a lot of compliments when I wear 'wood'. Guess it just compliments my natural scent. Also bulgari, but to a lesser extent.
Priv Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Also, when I was in a silly mood, I ordered a lot of ea de colognes (?) from the internet not having smelled one before. Something called fahrenheit was recommended as supposedly it smelled like sex to women. Can;t go wrong with that . Worst scent ever! Something only the natural scent of a 90 y old man can match. Ughhh
ASG Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I've been known to follow guys around if they smell of hugo boss bottled! But usually, as long as its nice, i don't care! Just can't deal with BO.
hasaquestion Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Personally, I've never noticed a correlation between how much/strongly women compliment me on/notice cologne and how "fancy" the cologne is. I suspect that as long as you wear it in a tasteful amount, and its not something particularly played out (Acqua di Gio), you'll more or less get the same reception. Whether the bottle was $150 or $15. It would be interesting if any of the women on here could chime in on that subject. 1
GemmaUK Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 It all depends on what suits him. It's best to test and get samples of a few to try out. Different scents can smell very different on different people. Though I have never yet been aware of someone wearing Hugo Boss and me liking it as I find it too over bearing. I can'r stand BO. I did attempt to discuss the difference between deodorant and anti-perspirant with one guy I was dating once but he was adamant he didn't have a problem as he wafted past..
