lynn1954 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Sometimes I feel that my life is like a hi-jacked thread on an Internet forum. Similar to an Internet forum, in real life I express my opinion or identify my personal needs or seek help, and I get a) life and the people around me just continue on, as if I haven't even spoken b) life and the people around me acknowledge that I've spoken, and then talk extensively about their own opinions and their own personal needs c) life and the people around me acknowledge that I've spoken, and then talk extensively about how wrong I am, how much they disagree with me, and how I don't know anything about anything I'm feeling a little worn down.
carhill Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 While YMMV, IME life, and its associations, is transitory and, while companionship is nice, predominantly, at the core of who we are, we go through life solo, even if we love and feel loved. Hence, beyond those steadfast or transitory companions who have expressed and demonstrated the actions and words of care and love, everyone else and their opinions and judgments are generally irrelevant. If your posting today were your last and you were suddenly and unfortunately struck down and your life ended, would they really care? IME, no! That's not bad or wrong. It's just life. Hence, why should you care about their existence, opinions or judgments? You have choices too!
Author lynn1954 Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 I am talking about "the steadfast or transitory companions who have expressed and demonstrated the actions and words of care and love." Do you have people like that in your life? I don't.
