LoveMyFirefighter Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 When is the best time to say I love you for the first time? I almost said it during sex the other night but luckily I caught myself because I didnt feel like that would have been the best time.. I'm actually really nervous about saying it cuz Im not sure what his reaction is gonna be so I wanna make sure the time and place is perfect.. Any suggestions?
MidwestUSA Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Anytime other than just before, during, to just after sex! Good instincts! 2
Armegoggon Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm pretty sure that if you had sex, it would've already been the best time to say that. It would make better sense to say "I love you" when having sex. Don't be afraid to say that. As you're a girl, you should be able to stand up for yourself and tell him that you love him unless he only wants casual sex. Usually it's better for a man to love her than to have sex with her. I may be a virgin kid but I certainly read lots of dating profiles to come across this.
soccerrprp Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 How long have you two been dating? How close would you say you two are? By all means try to refrain from saying it when you are emotionally compromised. During such times, ILY escapes w/o intention. Really take a careful look, assessment of what your relationship is and who he represents to you on a consistent basis. Provided that you are prepared for rejection AND truly ready, go for it when you feel and know it's love.
Woggle Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Just say it when you are feeling it. Most guys like genuine expressions like that. 1

ILY when having sex can certainly be construed as being caught up in the emotion of the moment. It's much better to hear it outside the bedroom, certainly when you feel it, but not when you're riding the high of happy endorphins.
bluegreen Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If you are not sure and not feel comfortable to say it then its not right time yet. Right moment will happen and you will just know it ... 1
Phantom888 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Say it when you feel it. I said it the first time after sex with my fiancee. She was surprised, but felt very good about it. But only say it if you mean it. If you are afraid of his reactions, then maybe it's not the right time. Any guy who would react poorly to words of love after having sex is really not worthy of love. IMHO.
georgecostanza Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 In the words of some band or other; "Save it for the deathbed, when you know you kept her wanting you."
MuffMan6969 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Dont stress on the actual words " I Love You"...When the moment is right, and you will know when, tell him " I have fallen for you, big time". He will know what you mean. If he feels the same, he will respond with the "L" word. If he doesnt, at least you have opened up the topic for discusion.
Omei Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 When you are both able to go to the bathroom without closing the door I think its time for an I love you
WildWildWest Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Some ppl say its a good idea to say it during sex and some say it isnt.. I would say not to cuz he may not believe its genuine.. just wait till the feelin is right.
Hopeful30 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Never say it first. In my experiences, the best relationships have been when the man said it first. The one time I said it first, he got scared and went all insecure (even though for month's he's been saying how inlove with me he was).
nerdlingZA Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I never told my Ex I love her for 2 years, and when I told her I love her , she left me 3months later.

Maybe she felt it took too long and by that time, the love she had for you died already. So when you finally told her you loved her, she realized that she wasn't in the same place anymore. Just a speculation.
Imajerk17 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) When is the best time to say I love you for the first time? The first of the month. No, the 15th. Actually during a full moon. Yeah that's it. Or come to think of it some more, maybe you should wait until payday. Seriously OP how is anyone going to answer this for you? When is "right" completely depends on the individuals involved.
