MrNate 2.0 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Is it true for you? Because I'm starting to believe it's true for me. 8
Grumpybutfun Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm US southern so love is in the kitchen. I admit my wife's appeals are many, but her cooking and baking is beyond amazing. Each bite of homemade fudge cheesecake brownie or succulent lemon and butter flaky piece of cod is singing I Love You, I love you...I care so much for you I created this out of rawness...my kids feel the same way. My son has charmed many women with his ability to cook....I stink at it but I am a great Grillmaster and hunter/fisherman. My wife has a cutting board that says, from my kitchen to your heart. Exactly. G 10
dragon_fly_7 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Nothing wrong with cooking for your spouse if that's what you like. I plan to sometimes cook for a bf I love and well if he's a good cook too ok then cool. I guess that way we can surprise each other as in switching turns in the kitchen. One thing I'll never do is cook for 10+ guest or for his entire family. No thanks. Just because I'm Hispanic doesn't mean I'm gonna make a buffet. Edited May 5, 2014 by dragon_fly_7 3

I'm partially hispanic and I was raised in a big family, so I had to learn how to cook for two!! My H is a wonderful cook (I'm better though ). 2
Valen Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Definitely true for me. I have yet to meet a woman that can cook better than me, and I'm not that great of a cook.
Phoe Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm finding that my cooking skills certainly aren't hurting him! 2
Smilecharmer Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm finding that my cooking skills certainly aren't hurting him! My husband runs three miles extra on days when I bake. 5
MissBee Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 It never hurts... A man who feeds me is a plus. My current bf doesn't cook much but expresses an interest in being better. He's great in lots of other more important ways though. I on the other hand LOVE feeding the people I love and my bf appreciates it because on top of it being delicious, it symbolizes nurturing and the fact that I care about him enough to do it. 3
Keenly Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Not so much with home cooking but if she picks me up some fast food on the way over, especially the things I like and how I like them without me asking, that definitely wins her many, many points. 3
RonaldS Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I couldn't really care less, actually. My XW rarely cooked, and I was fine with that. And I'm not a guy who wants a ton of cupcakes or cookies lying around. I do like women who have diverse tastes. There are a lot if good restaurants in my neighborhood, so it's nice to have sushi one night, Ethiopian the next, Thai the night after, Greek after that, some French, Argentine steak, etc etc.
Frank2thepoint Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 A woman that can cook for me, is a woman I will love for a very long time. But I can cook too, and would be happy to cook for a woman, so she knows I'm not selfish. I'm US southern so love is in the kitchen. Exactly. G I'm salivating. I'm getting tupperware. 2
regine_phalange Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I can measure the true love of a man by how discreetly he spits the food I cook. I avoid having plants in the dining room, because the last time I had one it mutated to something monstrous!
Michelle ma Belle Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm Italian (and French) so cooking is in my D.N.A. I'm a woman who loves to cook but haven't done as much of it since my divorce. Now that I'm in a relationship, I get to throw on the apron again and have some fun. My partner is from the North Carolina and a vegetarian and although he is quite capable in the kitchen, he LOVES my cooking, especially my home-style Italian cooking! We love to go grocery shopping together, we enjoy going through some of my cook books to find recipes we want to try and we even love cooking together. Having someone to cook for that not only appreciates my cooking but cleans out the leftovers in my fridge makes us BOTH very happy A match made in food heaven.

Easier than caring for mutated plants, or mutated boyfriends !!
regine_phalange Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 ??? !!! Take cooking classes. Easier than caring for mutated plants, or mutated boyfriends !! Oh, Im mostly kidding. But I don't think I've ever made anyone addicted to my cooking. I have received compliments, but nothing extraordinary. Im a normal cooker with bright moments. 1
d0nnivain Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 It's kind of a caregiving nurturing thing. Believe me, it's not only about the cooking because I'm a lousy cook but it's about the caring to procure food. Even if it's only that I ran out & got his favorite pizza, he still feels like I did that for him; he feels taken care of. 3
Keenly Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 For me its less about the food itself and more about the time and effort she took out of her day to feed me. 3
Phoe Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Now I feel like cooking... any ideas what I should make?? haha
gaius Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Now I feel like cooking... any ideas what I should make?? haha Anything with meat in it. 2
Phoe Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Anything with meat in it. Pffftt I never cook ANYTHING that doesn't have meat in it! mmm. meat 4
carhill Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Is it true for you? Because I'm starting to believe it's true for me. Well, the lady I did marry was the one with the bulging cookbook and the creative culinary talents, so perhaps that was one aspect, though I didn't consciously consider it at the time, beyond being pleasantly surprised that someone would appear to actually enjoy cooking for me. Perhaps that was borne of too many years cooking for myself!
Frank2thepoint Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Oh, Im mostly kidding. But I don't think I've ever made anyone addicted to my cooking. I have received compliments, but nothing extraordinary. Im a normal cooker with bright moments. Oh you are just being modest my dear culinary Scorpio. 1
Shepp Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Some people "live to eat". Some people "eat to live". I fall into the "eat to live" group. If I could take a pill for food that would be fine by me. I will always be skinny, that counts for something. You "Foody" types are passionate, have more culture, open minded, etc. than I am. I will give you that. I definitely live to eat!! Without doubt! I love love love food! I would definitely enjoy a lass putting great food on the table! But it's not a necessity - I love to cook myself so I get my food that way! My girlfriend burns toast!
Babolat Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Is it true for you? Because I'm starting to believe it's true for me. It's not a top 5 requirment, but the woman I have dated who can cook, and liked to cook, and cooked well, they scored major points! I dated a girl this fall who could boil water and pop popcorn. It was kind of a turn off. 1
