Wirenut Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I've been with me current girlfriend for about a year. We both met online and been happy. My girlfriend has a pretty horrible experience with past relationships with guys cheating and lying to her from what shes told me. I've been on dates with other women before I met my girlfriend, and gotten random text messages from them. I don't know any of the numbers so don't know who it is til I get talking to them. I find it strange they would keep my number if they knew over a year ago that I had no interest. This evening I received one and my girlfriend asked who it was and I didn't know. She got upset, not at me tho. From past experiences she said her exes used to make up bs stories and such. I eventually found out who it was and told her. Should I just delete them as I get them? Hate to feel like I'm hiding anything from her. Not sure what sort of advice I'm asking for. Just venting. Don't like to see her upset.

You've been dating for a full year, she must know by now that you are trustworthy and if some girl from your past shows up you will handle it like a man in a relationship and you will say 'sorry I am not interested I am in a relationship'. End of story. Just tell her you know who you belong with and she should know by now you are not any of her exs.

They are probably contacting every male who they dated up to a year or more a ago. The only thing you're doing wrong is talking to them. You're in a relationship so you shouldn't be entertaining them or catching up with them.
Tressugar Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 That's common in OLD. My now, newly married friend still gets texts from (OLD) people in her past. She shuts it down and keeps it moving.
