Am I reading this situation wrong??? I'm not good with women's "signals"

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to reading women. I never have a clue if they are interested in me or not, if they want me to "make a move", etc...

So here's the situation.

I met this gal on the Platonic section of the personals. Here post was regarding finding a platonic friend to do things with. Nothing sexual or romantic.

We talked about possibly going to a movie and just becoming friends. As we emailed each other I mentioned that I give a pretty good massage. She expressed interest in getting a massage as she hadn't had one in a long time.

Actually, this is a completely honest post.

You have to understand I met my ex-wife when I was just out of my teens and she was my first girlfriend/lover/partner/etc....

We were together for 20 years. So I never really had the opportunity to go out on dates with multiple women when I was younger.

And I have always been very shy, even when I was a teenager and it certainly hasn't improved.

So I'm not the most experienced guy on the block when it comes to flirting with women and reading their signals. Sorry, as pathetic as I may sound, it's the truth.

Was just looking for some honest opinions.

Yes, i was that bad at reading hints, and that scared of messing it up.

 

OP, you should have went for her other regions, and see where it went from there, but she was definitely into you.

Give her a call, and flirt a little, offer her another massage ... maybe it's not too late.

You are exactly correct Bruce.

Not only did her ad state "not looking for anything sexual or romantic" but she also stipulated that when we were first emailing each other. She was just looking for friendship.

So I was hesitant to do anything while massaging her.

But I have contacted her and we are going to a movie on Friday and drinks after. Hopefully the evening will end with a special "massage" for both of us :)

Regardless what message she posted, obviously there was enough chemistry for her to feel really comfortable with you to be next to naked and receiving a sensual massage from you. You went to the "hands off" regions and she moaned with excitement. You could of easily progressed to fully sexual and she definitely wouldn't have minded. I think you spent too much time thinking about the "friendship only" ad while you had your hands on her naked body. This is not about you misreading the signals, it's you not allowing yourself to stop thinking and go with the flow of the situation.
