PogoStick Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I'm a guy btw. Since men often talk about the 1-10 scale in rating women, I was curious if women have a comparable 1-10 scale for men. Then I saw a post that said just post your pic on Beautifulpeople.com if you're curious. So I threw a picture up on the website and it get's voted on for 48 hours. I didn't fill the profile description, just the basic height and weight. They suggest you'll get more positive votes with a full profile but whatevs. It's been interesting watching the rollercoaster. I started out getting more above average votes. Then I added a second picture and got lots of Hell No votes. But then more Hell Yes votes rolled in later. I'm guessing that my attractive varies in different parts of the world and votes are trending depending upon time of day. Well, as it stands, I'm an hour away from being not Beautiful. How can my ego possibly survive without this validation? edit: It's official!
J21 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) Why is your self esteem and confidence tied to what people on the internet thinks? I really don't understand what the purpose was to begin with. Edited May 2, 2014 by J21 1
Salvatore85 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 What did that actually accomplish other than destroying your self esteem? 1
BikerAccnt Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I'm assuming you're joking about needing the validation based upon the tone of your post...you ugly **** you! Good to see your self-esteem isn't affected by what random people from the interenets think of your looks. 1

If I was really concerned I would fill out the entire profile and stage some sort of modelesque picture.

J21 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Woman aren't shallow about mens' appearance. I know my attractiveness is based upon my bank account. There are no generalization. Some women are, some woman aren't. Some women don't give a hoot about your bank account either. 1
lollipopspot Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Some people aren't photogenic. A picture doesn't really show how attractive someone might be when they're moving or in real life. I don't think those sites probably show a lot other than generally how good you appear in a still photo with no other mitigating factors as there would be in real life. I've seen people who look great in photos and not so attractive when you meet them, and vice versa.
Author PogoStick Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 The part I enjoyed was checking out women from different countries. Some guys will proclaim a certain country has the most beautiful women. Brazil is often mentioned. I couldn't make such a distinction. The only thing that became apparent was some countries had nobody at all, which I assumed meant they are too poor to afford internet. Most muslim countries were barely represented which I figure means their women aren't allowed on such sites, or that country bans it completely. Interestingly, Iran had a few representing. I wish those muslim countries weren't so repressed since I find many of their women to be quite attractive.
