Last night I received a message on a dating app that I use. After about twenty minutes of talking, he asked me out to brunch this morning. (Normally I would say it was too soon to be asked out, but I figured why not.) I accepted.

This morning he texts me the following:

"So you're never going to believe this...

I bit off a hunk of my tongue... It took me 30 min to stop the bleeding..

None the less, I am going to have to cancel. This **** hurts and I'm talking like a jerk. Lol"

What the hell? Ironically, he bit it off eating a banana. LOL. what do you guys make of this? I call bull****. But I also find it odd because HE asked me out initially. He says if he can fix the way he's talking, he will still hang. I'm not holding my breath. I really wish I had asked for photographic evidence.

If its that odd I think he's telling the truth unless he's really stupid but then if hes telling the truth hes kinda stupid for biting his tongue like that too lol

I find that very hard to believe. Who the eff bites a soft a55 banana that hard where they take off a chunk of their tongue?

I'm calling BS.

Simple. Just reply "pics or it didn't happen"

It's all part of his diabolical plan.

You have no way of knowing if it's true so you have to accept what he says. If he asks you out again, you can choose to go or not.

I think it's too bizarre of a story to make up.

Don't be so suspicious, it makes you seem angry and bitter.

Just tell him "oh wow! Ouch! No worries" and see if he reschedules. No skin off your back if he doesn't, right?

Haha!!! I don't think it's a fib - if someone's going to lie I would expect they'd make up a less lame story than that!!

Although maybe he should stop eating bananas so ferociously haha

If you decide to date him, suggest going to Jamba Juice.

Just be like "that's fine no problem" and leave it up to him to reschedule. You've never met the guy, and don't even know him. So who cares? It's no hair off your back.

Whether he bit his tongue, or broke his leg--the bottom line is that a cancel is still a cancel.

whatever happened to the 24 hours bug that works so well?

If he is interested, he will reschedule. Leave it for now and his behaviour in the next few days will tell you if he was telling the truth

I do believe him now. I only doubted him in the beginning because it seemed like a far fetched story, but it's true. I think it is too bizarre to make up. I wasn't planning on "calling him out" on his bs and I decided against it. I just wished him well and that was that. He has shown an interest in rescheduling so I'm not worried about it.

We've been talking since this morning and from what I can tell his intentions are well. :)

Take him some bananas and a get well balloon on your first date as a gesture of kindness :p
