Sgt. Pepper Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Almost every female I've ever known either dislikes or just tolerates long hair on men. My mother tolerated a mullet on my father in the 90s and regular long hair but by time he was around 54 nagged him to cut it saying he was too old for long hair. My sister mocks her husband when he grows his hair and nags him until he cuts it. She once said to me in his presence that a man with Long hair enjoys the woman's role in a relationship. None of my girlfriends to date liked long hair and it's the reason I've never had it. Why di so many women dislike it?
KaliLove Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I don't like it because it either looks extremely feminine, or because the guy doesn't take care of it and it looks (and smells) dirty and scraggly. 2
tbf Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Fashion that ended up being bound into gender roles. 1
Candy_Pants Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 If a man washes it regularly and it has good texture, I love it. Been asking my H to grow his but he gets bored and ends up shaving his head. Maybe one day. I had very short hair for a few years. I loved it. So did the guys I dated and my LTR boyfriend. It's hair.
Smilecharmer Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Personally I love long hair and most of the men I dated before my current spouse had long hair. My college bf was a beautiful blonde with longer hair than mine and he was a Physics major so it isn't just certain guys that have long hair. The only people I know who hates long hair on guys are other men.
hotpotato Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I love longer hair on men, as long as its kempt. I really like the traditional long, straight hair that many amerindian men keep. I also like long blonde hair especially if he has a beard to match. *drool*
tbf Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Now for my subjective perspective. I prefer males with short hair since I'm one of the brain washed sheep. To me, anything that hides gorgeous strong male jawlines is a crime against women. 1
Meatballsmom Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 If you are going to hang with me, and have a chance at being my man, don't come knocking on my door with a short businessman's hair cut. They all look the same, and they all have the same suits with the same ugly tie. They would ask me to dine with them and then show up in their suit and wonder why all they got was a thank you for dinner. Have a nice life. My current man of 20 years has salt and pepper hair down to the middle of his back. Add to that an all white beard. When we go out, especially for dinner, I insist that he comb it our from his pony tail and put on is gray cowboy boots. I love the way they sound when he walks. You can see the look of disgust in the eyes of the suits, but what they don't notice, is the look of admiration in the eyes of the women they are dining with. Eat you heart out girls, he's mine, and after we get home I am going to reaffirm I am his.
Els Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Same reason as why many men dislike really short hair on women. Obviously there are people who don't fall in that majority, so if it really matters to you that your woman like long hair on men, hold out for one who does.
cocorico Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 As long as it's clean and doesn't involve a combover, it's fine.
bubbaganoosh Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Whoo boy, I'm a product of the 60'a when the Beatles and Stones burst on the scene and can remember when a guy DARED to let his hair get long. Granted it was the style back then and finally became acceptable but to here all the noise from the older generation. We really didn't have a defense for it and all the comments like "Hey! You look like a girl," and some others that were not worth mentioning. My best friend came up with the excuse that Jesus had long hair and his Dad would let him know that back then, there were no barber shops so they had long hair. Or they cut it with a knife. Honestly, it wasn't worth growing it and having everyone mumble under their breath, "Cheap hippie".
down hearted Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 This is just my opinion as everyone has their own taste, personally as a women i see long hair on men as gross and dirty and is not attractive at all just my opinion i respect others who like otherwise this is just my own personal taste.
mammasita Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I'm fond of a good mullet every now and again. Business in the front, party in the back!
kodakgirl Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I personally find it unattractive, though I couldn't say why, but I know quite a few women-- mid 20s arty types-- who just drool over long hair, it's like their number one turn-on. You just have to find the right women.
Fluttershy Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Depends on the style and the man. Some can pull it off, some can't.
serial muse Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I'm one of those who doesn't really find it attractive. I don't find it feminine, but I just don't think it's sexy. *shrug* That said, there are plenty of women who like it. Seems like it'll be a good weeding-out point for you, OP. 3
iris219 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Personally, I don't mind it. It has to do with gender roles. And it's fairly atypical, and many people prefer someone who follows typical social conventions. It's the same reason why many men like women with long hair. 1
waterwoman Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 My 17yr old son has long blond hair. It's gorgeous!! It is in good condition and a buttery yellow. I tell him to enjoy it while he can as both grandfather's went bald and his dad started lose it in his early 20s
Badsingularity Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 If a man is confident and attractive most women will love long hair on him. 1
Standard-Fare Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 As you can see from the variety of responses, it's really just a matter of personal taste. Some people are into it, some people aren't. I personally kind of like a guy's hair to be kind of "wild," like the just out-of-bed look. Usually works best on hair that's not too short. But I myself tend to keep my hair pretty natural (and yes sometimes it gets messy) so I feel like it wouldn't make sense for me to be with a guy with really clean-cut hair. I can't be with a guy who's gelling his hair in the morning while I'm just rolling out of bed and starting my day.
love1336x Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Typically not saying ALL men, but some LOOK LIKE a nasty bum!!!! lol. Well in my experience! If a man does not comb it, or style his hair in anyway.... IT IS A HOT MESS. You look like you don't shower.... Just total gross! And don't get me wrong! I love HAIR. If my man has a hairy body! Like on chest, arm pits, whatever even his below the belt has hair.. I am FINE. I love snuggling naked with that, but on his head. Just AWFUL if they DO not style or DO something with it.
love1336x Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Same here. Love the natural look but can't be stringy. Adorable. My guy wouldn't even know what gel is. Lol. Exactly!
