Engagement is not even close to the end of the story. If you are happy being with someone that took breaks and dumped you repeadtly, good luck.

We are engaged, but thank you for your input

Well, I hope everything works out for you, but I would be careful. Just a word of advice.

@Tara

I have to say, I'm absolutely moved by how emphatically you've delivered your words. I have rarely read such an outwardly sincere piece of advice...

OP, you're incredibly lucky to have found the attention of these people on LS. We are all in, or have experienced heartbreak in equal measure. I beg you, stay with us and heed what there is to say here.

Take up NC with us and join us. You have to grow for yourself and for us!

That's extraordinarily kind of you, and I truly appreciate your comments.

However, sadly, even though the OP came here for advice after a heartbreaking episode, she has seen fit to go against all counsel given.

I sincerely hope everything works out for her, but with an habitual indecisive, such as is her now-fiancé, I have a sad feeling we have not heard the last of this.

And I hope she understands that nobody will turn around when it all goes pear-shaped, to say "we told you so!".

I yearn for people to find happiness and contentment, but sadly, they are instrumental in orchestrating their own repeated sadness.....

Let's hope it's not the case here....

OP, my best friend went through a similar breakup, and reacted in much the same way you did. They've now been married a little over ten years. Most breakups are the end, but not always. Every couple has their own unique, individual story. So glad you came back to update yours. Often when the outcome is good, people don't return. Only when things go south. As a result, boards skew negatively.

Agreed.

While i know why most people in this forum choose to encourage no contact or sound very negative when someone patch back with an ex. This is becoz they want u to heal faster.

But then things are never 100% certain.

I am glad u choose to believe things can work out.

All the best OP.

Well, that and there aren't a lot of success stories in general. I hope the OP's continues to be one.
