I text back and forth for a bit and try to arrange a phone call.

I find that chicks these days find it kind of creepy when you just call them out of the blue. They could be out with friends, driving, with family, eating, cooking, doing all sorts of things. With apps like Tinder etc. they can be chatting with you while doing something completely different in a situation where a phone call would be awkward and they can't give you their undivided attention.

So I text back and forth a bit and then line up a time to call. I try to get a phone call in before the first date.

I got this girl's number back in January. She neglected to save my number. My number turned out to be similar to another guy she gave her number to, who kept calling and it drove her nuts and she wouldnt respond to my texts until we cleared up that I was not that guy. She saved my number and blocked his. It was kind of funny in the end.

I don't like talking on the phone that much, but to me, a call shows more interest and its definitely more personal. I can get a feel for their excitement level and interest through listening to their voice and there's less room for misinterpretation of tone than with text.

Forget dates. I barely pick up my phone period. Its a texting device that is occasionally used for phone calls. Not the other way around. And I'm fairly confident I'm the rule, not the exception.

And some girls would be stupid enough to answer the phone if they are out with friends instead of letting it go to voicemail

I always call; I'd never date someone whose primary form of communication is text messaging.

People who say they don't like they phone prefers text and face to face

I used to hate texting but don't any more. To me the ideal is texting to set up a call, like, "hi, would you like to talk?" That makes me happy.

That's fine ......

*I* prefer face to face over the telephone.

*I* am not adverse to text messaging; I see it as one ...... of many ...... communication tools at our disposal.

However, *I* am not the least bit interested in "Conversational Text" - LOL.

People's communication skills ...... particularly in regard to important emotional issues ...... is rapidly deteriorating in our society.

IMO, texting is not helping us to combat that very real problem.

but what if you schedule doesn't allow you to see the person face to face that often?

Well ......

That's what phone calls are for. If their schedule precludes in person, quality time together, on a consistent basis, then they simply are not a good match for me.

BTW, I just sent you a text message reminding you to eat your fruits and vegetables, use proper form when doing pushups, and to brush your teeth before going to bed ...... see how effective that was ;)?
