Corduroy Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 alright, my problem now is that my ex gf told me to make my instagram private. the reason being is that she doesn't want her boss or coworkers to see inappropriate pictures of her and me. she thinks that she'll get fired if anyone see's them, and she'll never forgive me if she does. idk if i buy all that though... she's the one who broke up with me btw. should i put it on private or keep it public and the hell with her. i should let you know that i would like to get back with her, and be on her good side, but i don't like being told what to do & her micromanaging me...

sooshi Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 It's very possible to be fired over having inappropriate content of yourself posted online. I think the right thing to do is to make it private (I guess you can't just limit visibility to those pictures), regardless of whether her reasons were honest or not. If she was being truthful, I don't think she was trying to micromanage you; she is just trying to protect herself from losing her job/respect within her workplace. 1

So delete them. don't have the originals. i heard that you shouldn't delete pictures of your ex, because that was part of your life, good memories. i'd like to go back and read all the comments in the future anyways.

You heard what, from who? The relationship police? Take screenshots. And delete them. You want future prospects to see them and question why you haven't let go? What good can possibly come from reading all those comments?
Poppyolive Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 If you make your instagram private they are still your pictures to see and comments to read....when its public anyone can see/find them which is what she is asking you hide make private. Stop vei g so angry and bitter and do it....it's really not a big deal but possibly a big deal for her. You could also screen shot them if you are so concerned about loosing your Pictures. Also I think deep down you know that what she's asking is not that big of a deal....but you are angry & pissed off and I'm sure you'd like everyone to be on your side..."yah man she shouldn't tell you what to do" etc but really I think you are being petty which is only winding you up.n
