saltyfishhead666 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I was wondering what everyone's comfortable running pace on a treadmill was. I've noticed sometimes mine is so slow it's on walking pace and seems to speed up until it's so fast that I'm scared I'm going to fall off the back of it. I'm a newbie to treadmills granted
thefooloftheyear Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 If its comfortable, you arent doing it right..... TFY
dichotomy Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) The pace that puts my heart rate in the target zones for what I seek, or that does not exceed my max threshold heart rate for intervals. Here is a good link for that http://www.racedaynutrition.com/HeartRate.aspx or - if I am nursing a injury or infection or something like that -a pace that does not inhibit recovery - and that might just be walking. Author saltyfishhead666 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Every brand of treadmill is unique. The settings, tension, slope, etc. You should be able to find yours on You tube. I'm not a fun of them . I run outside rain, snow or shine. If working out indoors I much prefer an exercise bike...more control and I can think less while watching TV or talking on phone, etc. I'd love to be an outside runner however I have asthma and all the bits in the air make it much more difficult. I'm not really a runner either, however bike and cross trainer I tend to slack lol
