well, I feel embarassed to say, but I'm nearing 27 and I am yet to have a girlfriend (or even kiss someone). I feel so ashamed about that.

I would say I'm quite OK, but I don't go out much at all and the last 2 or 3 years I have dedicated myself to what could very well be unrequited love with a girl on the other side of the planet.

I do feel lonely because of this, but in a way, I don't want to abandon that girl I like either. I am an idealist, a dreamer and a romantic. But maybe it is time to take a different approach in life?

It's time to do something about your situation. Stop thinking about that girl and start dating. Even if you get rejected, never give up. That's how you build experience and gain confidence in yourself.

I'm 47 (old enough to be your father) and I have no regrets about not having a gf at the moment.

To me, quality of life is much more important than whether people think I've failed at life just because I'm not shacked up with some woman I don't have the hots for.

24 and never had a girlfriend either.

What exactly is your relationship with this girl? Are you two talking over the internet or are you pining over her while she is unaware?

I was pinning in the past.

Since, say 2014, we have been chatting nearly daily.

Yesterday not because her internet was down sadly.

When I go there in May and she is not keen on meeting, I know where I stand and can move on. But I do like her a lot.

I think the guys who are successful with girls are either

1) the incredibly hot

2) the incredibly rich

3) the incredibly funny

4) the liars & players

5) and most importantly the ones who are bold enough to try and try until they get the girl!

That leaves the guys who are in the middle, who have many good qualities, yet either shy or socially awkward...or more focused on girls who don't want them and ignoring the ones who really care about them or best for them.....
