Lipitor11 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I had a job interview a few days ago and there were 3 people interviewing me, they asked me basic questions, then they asked me the typical behavior questions, when I answered their questions they wrote down my answers and the 2 interviewers had like 10-15 pages of questions. Well, I saw the one lady give the other lady a "look" then she said she was "done" asking questions. I'm like ok...there were still several questions to be answered. Why would they be done asking me?

Why would they be done asking me? did you ask what the next step in the hiring process was and send a thank you email? Usually the answer to what is the next step in the hiring process is what lets you know if you got the job If they say "we will be continuing interviews for another 2 weeks" then that's a bad sign If they say "we are looking to make a decision no later than next friday, that's a good sign
Author Lipitor11 Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Well, the one interviewer said something like, how many days notice do you need if you were offered the position, I said 2 weeks. Then he said that he still needs to interview other people and that I will be notified if I did get the job or not. After that, the 2 other interviewers gave me a tour and that was that.

I don't like that they mentioned they are interviewing other people. The last 3 jobs offers i had I was never told about other people. But I guess just see how it plays out.
Author Lipitor11 Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 I had a gut feeling I didn't get the job. Two weeks later, they emailed me and said that they decided to "move forward with someone that best meets the skills desired." They told me they were only looking to hire 2 people and were "interviewing other people." Which was probably a lie. I knew when he said that, that was a cop out. I mean, c'mon, if I was good enough for then, they would have hired me and wouldn't interview other people. Also, I noticed the same position is being posted again on their website. So that tells me they didn't hire anyone. Such BS. It's an entry level job where training is provided, what of these damn people want anyway??? It's bad enough getting rejected in the dating world!

A tip for the future, when a interviewer tells you they are interviewing other people that usually means you won't be selected. The last 2 jobs I have been hired for, the interviewer made me feel that I was the only person trying to get the job.
