semco Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 A woman that I have known at work for around 5 years now that I have always thought was just a really good friend and nothing really more has begun to act strangely. This woman is in a higher management position where I work so it is forbidden for her to really have any dealing with me outside of work. I went out on a date with a gal that I knew from HS. I ask permission from my supervisor, who is a woman and is also tight with this woman in question, if I could take the next day off. Of course my supervisor asks me if I have a date to which I reply, yes. The next day I get a phone call and my called ID comes up with a work number and low and behold its the woman in question calling me from work with some bs info about a card game a buddy was going to have and she wanted to let me know about it, which to me was odd to begin with. At that point she starts to ask me about why I wasn't at work and what I had been doing the night before. I don't remember verbatim the exact words of the convo but at one point I could tell she was really ticked off cause I was like "WO WO WO settle down. She ended up hanging up on me. A day or two later I ran into her and of course I asked her about her behavior which she completely denied. Thoughts?
AntiSocal Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I think you might be a bit delusional. Twisting the facts in your head to come to the conclusion that she was jealous. Maybe she really was calling you to talk about the card game, and maybe she was miffed at you for missing work in order to spend the night with a date... If thats not the case then she is obviously jealous of you. Stay far away from her though. Cuz if this really happened exactly how you said it happened then she is crazy and will probably end up getting you fired if things go south;
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Did you ask the girl you went out with if she had talked to your boss at all?
Author semco Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Did you ask the girl you went out with if she had talked to your boss at all? They dont know each other, I didnt really get into the whole story cause its to involved and long. some part of me wants to believe Iam dillusional, even though I know for sure she was digging into my personal life. I guess the part I cant quite figure out is if your interested in what Iam doing, why not just ask me yourself. Why the need to ask others and be secretive about it. I even confronted her another time, told her point blank to stop with the digging. So she did, we didnt talk for several months after that cause basically i wanted her to leave me alone. One day I am in my area working she stops by to talk to me, asks me when I was gonna come to her to settle our differences, I told her I didnt care about what differences we had and had no intentions of coming to her at all. Then she looks at me and asks me if I missed her. I didnt say yes or no cause in my mind I was thinking are you Fing kidding me? I just shook my head and went back to what I was doing, she follows me and insists that I tell her I missed her. Finally I did tell her I missed her just so she would leave.

I apologize, I misread the first post. Um... yeah. So I'm kind've getting a Glenn Close Fatal Attraction vibe from what you're writing about your coworker. I would just laugh off her comments when she starts to get weird. Wouldn't make a big deal out of it or stress over it. unless it gets worse.
Grumpybutfun Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 If this woman is not your manager and has absolutely nothing to do with your work, ignore, to cover yourself, you may want to report the woman's strange behavior to your direct Supervisor though in case she tries to thwart your employment due to whatever issues she has. Be professional and explain what happened. Do not make judgments, just tell your Supervisor you found her behavior odd and wanted to make sure someone knew about it in case of future issues. Who knows what she is doing, but it is odd, Grumps P.S. Don't tell her anything personal or that you miss her. Make as little contact as possible.
