This is just a general question:

Most of the people I know always have that one person, that one big love, where the break up was horrible. The break up that actually breaks you.

Do you guys believe that everyone will have to experience that big break up at some point, where your heart gets shattered to pieces? Or are there some amongst you that actually haven't had to experience such painful break ups in their life?

I'm still quite young on a dating perspective. I'm 24 and have had 2 previous relationships and currently in my 3rd relationship. Sure the break ups weren't a nice thing and I was sad, but I've never had to experience the kind of break up where I was crying for weeks and felt like my heart was ripped (Knock on wood ^^).

Makes me kind of anxious, I feel like a I'm waiting for it the storm to happen at some point. Which is a horrible feeling...

Idk about everyone in the world, but I had two devastating break ups. The first one I rebounded immediately to skip over the grieving process and the second one changed me for life. I realized how dependent I was on him, how much control his every move had on my emotions, and how he really wasn't that great, I was just lonely. I didn't date again for months. I didn't rebound, I gave myself time to cry and scream and punch pillows and call out of work to lie in bed all day and pity myself. And then I resolved to be Miss Independent and I made a ton of progress. I don't think I'm ready for another serious relationship yet, but I'm getting better.

I don't think everyone will experience a life shattering breakup. I think what makes breakups so life shattering is if you're obsessed with them to the point where nothing else matters. If you have a strong support system, you're active, you have hobbies, and you focus on goals it might not bother you so much.
