What's a tactful way to handle someone not answering your texts or e-mails over the course of a few days -- both with friends and love interests?

As far as the second group, I used to have a firm policy where I'd stop contacting them after two separate tries. But the truth is that, especially if I'm very busy, I can leave texts/e-mails unanswered, even from close friends and family.

You never double message someone period. If they don't respond, they don't get to meet you, that's their loss not yours.

yep, it sucks when they don't respond but you have to be firm about these things.
