IMJUSTONE Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 How long is average before seeking rebound sex? A month? A year? I realize it would depend on the situation, but I'm looking for what's average.
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 How long is average before seeking rebound sex? A month? A year? I realize it would depend on the situation, but I'm looking for what's average. Well ****. It's rebound sex (aka emotionally unhealthy sex). I could see banging someone the day after getting dumped actually lol. But a rule that I've hear is for the duration of the relationship, one should take half that time before getting into a new relationship. Is that gimmicky? Hell yeah and I don't believe it. Some people are just naturally more able to move on quicker than others. A week might work for so-and-so but another person may need a year.
d0nnivain Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 What difference does it make? If you have an itch & somebody is willing to scratch it, NSA, who cares whether it's 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year after your previous relationship was over?

I tend to agree, but a lot of people would see that as that I really wasn't very invested in the relationship. The circle is small, people talk, and making the wrong impression can be social suicide. Just trying to get a general idea. Thanks!
d0nnivain Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Which relationship? Just because you have rebound sex doesn't mean you weren't invested in the broken relationship. By definition, rebound sex means you aren't invested in the person you are rebounding with. You only care about having somebody with a pulse there to fill the whole left by your EX's departure. If you think rebound sex too early (& by whose definition) will lead to social suicide, you need a larger group of friends. Otherwise, you should just wait until you are ready to date again, problem solved.
