I'm a 22 year old guy. I have been single for quite a while. Around 6 months ago, a girl started work in my work place. She only works Thursdays as it's a placement course from her college course. We get on really well, and she is constantly telling me how much she likes me and wants to be with me. We have spent the last 2 days together, and lets say, things got a little more than ''friendly'' Today. I do like her, she makes me smile, gives me confidence which I otherwise lack and make me feel great about myself, which I never do!! The trouble is.... She is only 17. She is of legal age and 5 years isn't really a big gap, but is it bad at our age? Serious answers please... No ''your a paedo'' etc!!! Thank you :)

I see no problem here Alex. Go for it and good luck. 17 you are not doing anything wrong. Not a big gap.

Tell us how it goes.

I think it is no big deal over here. My sister met her husband when she was 14 and he was 19. My parents flipped out about it, which I can understand, and would not allow them to date until she was 16. They got married when she turned 19.

Since your girl is 17, I think it is not an issue. If you are worried about it, make sure her parents are okay with you seeing her.

Good luck!

Depends on how mature you guys are. Age is just a number. If you guys get along well and are on the same page i see no problems with it.

But IMO that is a huge gap. And people do a lot of maturing and changing in those 5 years. So really look at her and look at yourself. See if you guys are actually compatible and at the same point in life. Cuz a lot of 17 year old girls are VERY impressionable and immature.

I would agree with that.

I've known a few couples who didn't make it through the 18th & 21st's as it's a time when someone really changes and grows.

Having said that some couples did get through those years (not many but some did).

Aside from that there's nothing wrong. I am guessing there's no restrictions on colleagues dating where you work?

If she is just on a placement and not going to be full time then it could work out OK. :)

Go for it. I had a 17 year old girlfriend when I was 22.
