My friend he'll say "I love you" alot to me. He makes a point of it almost everytime I see him or talk to him. I never say it back though, cause I am uncomfortable with that, lol. I am not trying appear rude, I am like that with my own family. He says it seriously, so he's not joking or anything. I just don't know if it's because he's insecure or something? Like why would a guy say "I love you" alot to a girl? Is it cause they are subconsciously trying to tell you something else? I don't know. I'm just curious. Tell me what you think? Thank you!

IMO it demeans the meaning of the words to use is so frequently. But who knows. Maybe his parents used it with him a lot? Maybe his love language is affirmation and this is how he expresses himself?

I wholeheartedly disagree with BrunetteBabe -- Saying I love you frequently to those people who matter strengths the feelings & the relationship. Saying it indiscriminately can weaken the sentiment but seriously my husband & I telling each other several times per day that we love each other does not make the feeling less valid or meaningful. Celebrating our love makes us both stronger.

He is probably used to saying it often to the people he loves. I have a (female) friend that tells me often that she loves me. Like you, Im not the type to express feelings of love verbally very often. I do express them first, but not every day. If it's said to me and I feel the same though, I always reply back. On the other hand, I use physical affection all the time.
