I like a street musician, but I don't know how to ask him out!

Hi!

 

I'm so excited to be putting this question out there, because I don't want to talk to my friends about, because it feels kinda weird, but I need to ask someone!

 

I live in a city, and sometimes there are musicians in the subway stations. This guy and his friend play music together in the subway. I saw them for the first time a week ago, and I think they're pretty good. One plays guitar and the other sings and beats on a wooden box like a drum. I think the one who sings is really really cute and he smiles and seems friendly. Well, today I saw them again while I was with my friend, coming home from something we had to do for school.

 

Somehow I randomly had a burst of confidence, and when we got there they were not actually playing at the moment-- the conversation went like this:

 

Me--"Hey, are you guys taking a break?" (they do take breaks at times)

Him--"Nah, we're about to start,"

Me--"Oh. Is that tape?" (He was wrapping something around his hands. maybe this was a dumb question)

Him--"Yeah, I have to protect my hands"

Me--"How long do you play for?"

Him--"Probably about four hours, and we do it almost every day"

Me--"I was hoping I might see you guys again"

Him--"Do you come through here often?"

Me--"about once a week"

 

I forget after that, but I think I picked something off their song list for them to play, and they did..

 

What do I do!? I'm worried I might have come across over-perky-confident today, but maybe I just seemed normal, as I'm usually really shy and quiet.

 

Anyway, I just want to see him some time other than running into him and his friend playing music in the subway, and get to know him more... I like their music, I like his voice, I like what he does/they do because I think it takes a person who's willing to stick themselves out there in public, he has a cute face and a really nice smile, and he seems friendly.

 

Any ideas/opinions? Am I crazy? Am I creepy?
